2021 was a COVID come-back event & more!

October 21, 2021 goes down in history as the most amazing SD SWAT Golf event. After a spectacular day, we gathered for an outdoor evening event. A great supporter, Sam Flores, donated a Springfield Armory Commemorative M1 Iwo-Jima Rifle for the live auction which received honorable respect from bidders.

As Sam presented the elite rifle, he paused and announced his commitment to SD SWAT with a $500,000 donation to the team. It was, as they say, a moment to behold.

Words cannot express the gratitude the SD SWAT team and Citizens for SWAT experienced that day. We all thank you, Sam Flores.

PRESS RELEASE San Diego All-Star Outfielder Carlos Quentin Joins Citizens for SWAT

SAN DIEGO OUTFIELDER CARLOS QUENTIN JOINS CITIZENS FOR SWAT AS CELEBRITY SPOKESPERSON
March 19, 2014, San Diego, CA—Citizens for SWAT, a local nonprofit that supports the San Diego SWAT Team, announced today that All-Star outfielder Carlos Quentin has joined the committee. Founded in 2005, Citizens for SWAT was created to ensure that the San Diego SWAT team is equipped with the most up to date and effective gear to ensure the continued safety of the citizens of San Diego.

“Citizens for SWAT is a great organization that benefits those who put their lives on the line each day to protect us. I am happy to be a part of it,” stated Carlos Quentin.

Due to the limited funds from the City of San Diego, the SWAT Team looks towards Citizens for SWAT to fundraise for equipment and gear needed to keep San Diegans safe. Last year through fundraising and events, donations to Citizens for SWAT were in an excess of $100,000 making the total raised to date over $800,000. These funds continually go to the purchase of lifesaving equipment for the team. With this funding and new equipment the San Diego SWAT Team can continue to keep our communities safe.

“We are so happy to have Carlos join our organization. We hope that with his help and support that this year we can reach the one million dollar mark for donations to the team,” said Alex Beaton, Citizens for SWAT committee chairman.
